Have you ever noticed that a lot of the time, artists who create their own characters tend to make them look like themselves? All of my characters tended to have my upturned nose for the longest time... I'm trying to get away from that so as not to seem vain. :\ Not that I think it's a conscious effort. I think it's just a natural tendency, because when we're learning how to draw, we're more comfortable studying our own faces in the mirror than staring at a stranger's face up close for an uncomfortably long time. xD But anyways...
I've always wanted to find a book or website that puts different ethnicities side-by-side to compare the facial features of each... as a drawing reference. Someone posted a link to these tutorials, and I thought they were pretty helpful. They cover the bridge of the nose, the body shape, the sparseness of body hair, etc. (apparently white people have the most body hair.

Damn.)

Look at them!

They're the healthy alternative to doing a Google image search for the word "Mexican"... which I did. >_> And even if you don't need the reference, they're pretty interesting.
Now to whore out my art skillz again.
